Financial
Responsibility and Insurance Benefits
Many people intend to use a health insurance policy
to pay for their treatment at the Oasis. It is
important to understand that insurance policies
and benefits vary substantially. Our Financial
Department will assist you in obtaining information
regarding your policy, including a detailed explanation
of the treatment benefits available for your use
under your insurance contract. Your insurance
agent and employer may also be helpful in this
regard.
Your insurance carrier will most
likely require concur- rent reviews of your medical
progress during treatment. If the concurrent review
agent determines that treatment is medically necessary,
it will authorize treatment for a few days at
a time. It is rare that an entire stay is approved
upon admission. We will coordinate with your insurance
company to provide any required information for
the medical necessity review. Please understand
that it is your insurance company, and not Oasis
Treatment Center that controls the outcome of
these reviews. In addition, these reviews are
not a guarantee of payment by the insurance carrier
upon final billing.
Oasis cannot hold your insurance
company responsible for payment of fees. An insur-
ance policy is a contract between you and your
insurance company. Oasis contracts with you when you sign the Admission Agreement,
which obligates you to pay for treatment services
rendered. In the event that insurance does not
cover all your treatment costs, or if you are
private-paying for any portion of your treatment,
